Rory & Jess

Jess Mariano makes his first appearance in Gilmore Girls in episode five of season two, "Nick & Nora/Sid & Nancy." He is the nephew of Luke Danes, and has been sent to Stars Hollow by his mother for bad behavior. Despite his slacker behavior, Jess is an avid reader, and it is books that initially bring him and Rory together.
